P. DIDDY WANTS TO BUY AN ENGLISH SOCCER TEAM

Sean "P Diddy" Combs may buy Crystal Palace of the Coca Cola Championship

Americans typically don’t care when other Americans buy soccer teams. That’s probably why nobody cares that the Glazers own Manchester United while Liverpool is owned by George Gillett and Tom Hicks. Those are two of the biggest teams in Europe. But you can expect P. Diddy’s potential bid to buy Crystal Palace to get much more buzz.

GALLERY: EVE TORRES’ FIRST PITCH FOR THE DODGERS

Eve Torres throwing the first pitch for the Dodgers

Eve Torres is the winner of the 2007 WWE Diva Search. She also attended USC where she apparently dated Reggie Bush. Torres was also a member of the Los Angeles Clippers Spirit Dance Team in 2006-2007 and also appeared on the game show Show Me The Money as a Million Dollar Dancer.

Other than winning diva searches and dating famous people, she also started a sorority chapter while in college and has a blue belt in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Recently, she threw out the first pitch at a Los Angeles Dodgers spring training game. Her choice of a dress tight in the legs along with massive heels probably wasn’t the best choice of attire.

You can check out 10 pics of Ms. Torres after the jump.

SCORES: DEVILS MOVE UP, KNICKS & NETS LOSE AGAIN

New York Sports Score From Last Night

ScoresFromLastNight is our daily roundup of last night’s happenings.  Today’s edition is brought to you by BigLeagueScrew’s World Class Women.

DEVILS 5 PENGUINS 2

The Devils beat the Penguins for the second time in a week.  Then win vaulted them from the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference to the 2nd seed.  They’re now tied with the Penguins at 87 points but have one game in hand.  Pittsburgh’s Marc-Andre Fleury had a putrid .692 save percentage with 9 saves on 13 shots.  Zach Parise tallied his 33rd goal of the season in the second period to make the game 4-1.  Patrik Elias’ short-handed score before that ended up being the game-winning goal. [ESPN]

CELTICS 109 KNICKS 97

David Lee exploded for 29 points and took a whopping 21 shots in 44 minutes.  T-Mac managed to play for 29 minutes but only scored 12 points on 4 of 12 shooting.  Toney Douglas had his fourth straight double-digits points performance with 11 point.  The Celtics were winning by 21 points coming into the fourth quarter so no player was in for more than 28 minutes.  Even though they only played 24 minutes each, Paul Pierce dropped 29 and Kevin Garnett netted 22. [ESPN]

SIXERS 108 NETS 97

The Nets lost their 61st contest of the year on Wednesday.  Chris Douglas-Roberts had 23 points while Terence Williams, Brook Lopez, Keyon Dooling, Jarvis Hayes, and Kris Humphries all had double-digits points.  Unfortunately for New Jersey, the Sixers shot a massive 56% from the floor.  Every Philadelphia starter had at least 10 points while Andre Igoudala had a team-high 20 point. NCAA TOURNAMENT: STAR SEARCHING AT THE BIG DANCE

John Wall NCAA Tournament

Growing up in New York, I never had a favorite college basketball team. Two of my all-time favorite teams are the John Wallace-led Syracuse team and the Ron Artest-led St John’s teams, so I guess you can say I’m a fan of the Big East. Other than that, I’ve never felt too emotionally attached to a college team/program. When it comes to college basketball, I have no shame admitting that I am a frontrunner.

I root for individuals – the “it” players of the season, the underdog who comes from a school the size of a Manhattan apartment building, the senior on his last hurrah. The NCAA tournament is the perfect stage for these players. It is a frontrunner’s dream come true (if that isn’t an oxymoron).

THE WINNERS’ BRACKET: NCAA TOURNAMENT PREVIEW

West Virginia Mountaineers Butler

After all the hype and bubble talk, the field of 65 has finally been announced. Now comes the hard/fun part. The art of picking brackets is something that – and many other people – take seriously. Some watch hours and hours of sports media coverage, some like to pick according to seeding and some just like to pick the names that sound cool like “Gonzaga.” Personally, I follow college basketball all year long and throughout the course of the season I typically watch  games from all different conferences. Some teams stiand out to me with memorable performances while others I remember as possible “sleeper” candidates. Even if you sat and watched thousand of hours of games, you will still more than likely not be able to pick the perfect bracket or may not even come close. That is what makes this tournament so great from a fan’s perspective, because everyone has the same chances while filling out their brackets. Except, of course, if you pick a 16 seed over a 1 seed. If you do this please stop reading this post and go back and rip up your bracket because I can almost guarantee you Arkansas Pine-Bluff will not defeat Duke. When it comes time for me to pick my bracket I pay attention to 5 key points which I have described below. Check out the full post for these 5 keys, as well as my bracket analysis for each region.

2010 FANTASY BASEBALL PREVIEW: CATCHER

#1 catcher Top 10 list

Talent-wise catcher is the shallowest position in fantasy baseball, which makes it somewhat difficult to gauge their true value in relation to draft position. Experienced owners tend to realize that if you can’t draft one of the top tier catchers in the first few rounds, you should just wait until the later rounds of the draft because the talent field levels off quickly. But does that mean you should go out of your way to grab one of the top two catchers in the first 3 rounds? Not necessarily. Due to scarcity at the position Joe Mauer is going in the first round, even the top 5 in some drafts. I can’t say if this is a sound strategy or not, because I am a proponent of taking the best available player in the opening rounds of the draft. But if you can grab a top catcher at the right time, its a great luxury to have because later in the season its going to be a lot easier to find an outfielder, for instance, on the waiver wire when your lineup needs a boost. Check out our top 10 at the position, and a couple ideas on who you should target/avoid below.

BODY BY JAMARCUS: RUSSELL IS “GETTING IN SHAPE”
