USC running back Stafon Johnson was injured in a weight room accident on Monday. The senior was using the bench press when the bar slipped from his right hand and fell onto his neck. Johnson was taken to California Hospital Medical Center. Pete Carroll said that Johnson couldn’t speak after the mishap but “was OK.” The report notes that Johnson had a spotter when the accident occurred. Even though the Trojans have a number of quality backs, losing Johnson will still hurt them. Johnson had 246 carries and 14 touchdowns the past two seasons for USC.
