Robert Allenby is mad. He’s mad because Anthony Kim beat him. He’s also mad because Kim was apparently only a few hours removed from an all night booze session when the two faced off.
Anthony Kim notched a victory for USA in the President’s Cup when he beat Allenby 5 and 3. Allenby alleges that the American was out until 4AM the previous morning. Here’s what Mr. Alleby had to say:
“Maybe we should all take the theory of Anthony Kim,” Allenby said. “Get home at 4 o’clock (in the morning) and then go shoot 6 under.”
Asked if his comments were on the record, Allenby said, “I don’t care. Ask his playing partners. Ask his team. He is the loosest cannon in that team.”
Allenby went on to call the 24-year-old Kim golf’s “current John Daly.”
Sour grapes, anybody? Is Allenby mad that he didn’t lose by more? Isn’t it more embarrassing to lose to somebody who’s playing half-drunk? In any case, Kim denied the allegations. But they’re probably true since Kim had previously described his first year on the our as a “vodka-fueled rookie season.”

What a classless response to losing. It is none of his buisness what his opponent does the night before. It is one thing if Allenby won the match and felt KIM had let down his team.Maybe Allenby needs to relax and throw back a few.
Golf is a gentlemen's game. Mr. Allenby, if you can't lose with dignity, then maybe you should find a new profession. Mr. Kim beat you 5 & 3, which isn't just a loss, it's a whipping. I think you're more upset with yourself for losing and letting YOUR team down. Next time, please try to lose with grace or at least keep your childish comments to yourself. Your comments not only embarassed yourself but also your team. Take a lesson in sportsmanship from Mr. Singh. Hopefully, we will not have to see or hear you during the next President's Cup. Shame on you for bringing disgrace to such a dignified game.
