Mark Teixeira is one of our new favorite Yankees. He must be making a big impact in the Big Apple because he was invited to do Letterman on Monday. I suspect that a big guest (possibly a double segment) canceled last week to create the opportunity. Anna Wintour noted that the Late Show hadn’t asked her to appear on the show until last Friday. Teixeira, being local, was probably an easy choice as a fill-in. Hey, it’s better than having some random CBS personality appear… or A-Rod.
A-Rod on Letterman: Everybody knows he likes his women mannish!
Big Tex went casual with a long-sleeved v-neck shirt and jeans. He probably would’ve worn a suit, but Dave had set up a “batting cage” outside of the studio. Mark relayed a funny story to Dave about growing up in Baltimore and being heckled for wearing his Don Mattingly jersey and how he’s now harassed as a player at Camden Yards. After the conversation, they went to hit some balls on the street. Teixeira only made good contact on a couple though. It seemed to me that they were using weighted balls or something.
