The Pittsburgh Pirates had so few fans show up to their game on Thursday that they closed the upper deck of the stadium. 15,892 tickets were sold but barely 3000 people showed up to watch the Bucs. Fans who had tickets for the upper deck were allowed to sit in sections closer to the field. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette blamed the poor turnout on the G-20 summit in downtown Pittsburgh. It could be that. Or it could be the fact that it’s better to eat the cost of $20 baseball tickets than waste 3+ hours watching the Reds and Pirates. The picture above is actually from the game on Wednesday. Can’t you tell the difference?
