Sammy Sosa has a new look and it’s not a good one. If you didn’t watch the Latin Grammys this weekend (loser!), then you might not know what I’m talking about. The former Rangers, Cubs, and Orioles slugger showed up to the awards show looking different than usual.
Sosa appeared in photos on the red carpet with noticeably lighter skin on his face. A former employee of the Chicago Cubs said that Sosa wasn’t “trying to be Michael Jackson” and that the lighter skin is the result of a “rejuvenation” process. Apparently, the his face looks might lighter in picture than it does in person. Clearly, since he looks like a ghost in these pictures. Here’s another picture just for reference.
I’m sure that Sosa looks less frightening in person, but his appearance in these pictures is quite disturbing. Personally, I think that Sosa should embrace his new look. If he told people that his lightened skin was the result of extensive steroid use, he’d do a lot of good for the game. Kids may be willing to have shrunken testicles, rage, depression, and acne to get stronger — but would they be willing to look like a ghoul?
