It’s not cheap to go to a game at Madison Square Garden. In fact, it’s a huge ripoff. It would be nice to see a quality product when you pay that much money. But that’s not the case with the Knicks. The team will sell out 28 games this year even though they may win less than 15 home games. But that’s nothing compared to the early 2010-11 season ticket sales.
The Knicks have only been taking season ticket orders for a couple of weeks but they’ve already taken 1800 deposits. Yep, that’s a record. Scott O’Neill, the president of MSG Sports, had trouble containing his excitement:
“We didn’t hit this number until about August 15 of last year, which was a record year. We are on fire. There’s certainly anticipation of adding two superstars to New York,” O’Neil said. “I think there’s also a sense of, most of us remember the 90s when you couldn’t get a ticket to a Knicks game.”
Hopefully, the Knicks will offer fans more than anticipation by the time next season rolls around. Those early season ticket buyers might riot if LeBron isn’t wearing a Knicks’ jersey next season.

Who wouldnt race out to see a team lead by Joe Johnson and Carlos Boozer??
