Dolphins coach Tony Sparano decided to “reward” his players for a good day of practice on Sunday. The Miami head man decided to take the team to see G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra instead of holding Monday’s practice. Last year, he took the team to see The Express. Sparano cited explosions and “nice-looking women” as the reasons the factors that influenced his decision.
Via South Florida Sun Sentinel:
DAVIE – Pleased with the “energy” he saw at Sunday’s practice, Miami Dolphins coach Tony Sparano canceled Monday’s session and took his players to see G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra at a local movie theater.
“Lot of popcorn, big smiles and some rested bodies,” Sparano said Monday afternoon.
The team held a 25-play walkthrough in the practice bubble, then boarded a few buses and headed for an undisclosed location. It wasn’t until the players were seated in the theater that they realized which film they would see.
Last year, it was The Express, the story of former Syracuse football star Ernie Davis. This time Sparano had to do a little extra “research” to find the right flick.
“This thing here, I just figured there’d be a lot of things blowing up and people doing all those things, so I thought it was pretty good,” Sparano said. “And it had a nice-looking woman in it, too, for ‘em.”
