Other than the Jets disappointing, there seems to be another emerging trend for the franchise: Mark Sanchez loves late nights, video games, and Manhattan bars. We’ve received an eyewitness account from Sanchez’ most recent gaming session.
Turns out the Jets QB wasn’t too busy to hit up a bar last Wednesday night. Sanchez was in the East Village in New York City gaming his sorrows away at Village Pourhouse. Here’s the intel from our spy:
He got there around 11:30 and was playing Guitar Hero in the back room of the bar (I don’t think he was that good) with the drapes closed. Like, really, Mark? REALLY? You’re at Pour House on a WEDNESDAY. There’s not going to be any bottle service unless pitchers of Bud Light denote some sort of “Wow, I’ve really made it big in this town” type of feeling. And he wasn’t really drinking either. We got into the back room though eventually because two of the girls I was with were hot. Mike wanted me to ask him about Rhoda. But he was with some chick though so I wasn’t so sure how I wanted to approach the Rhoda question.
Anyway, he seemed disinterested. He told me that he had never met Todd (but heard he was a nice guy – yay for Todd) and our conversation lasted about two minutes. I was with my friend Jenny and she’s a Pats fan so we talked about the game the Jets have against them soon too. He’s also not as big as I thought he’d be. I’d say roughly my height.
So yeah, Sanchez was working on his game last week. Too bad it was Guitar Hero instead of American football. One has to wonder if the quarterback’s late night had an impact on his practice Thursday where Rex Ryan reportedly ripped his team for a poor session. At least he “wasn’t really drinking,” right?
Mark has apparently become a regular in Manhattan bars. Earlier in the year, he was spotted at Johnny Utah’s twice and was playing beer pong with Yankees’ reliever Joba Chamberlain on one occasion. Now, it might be a little too early to label Sanchez as a booze hound. But he’s slowly building himself an undesirable off-field reputation. It certainly doesn’t seem like Mark spends much time in his rented New Jersey cottage during the week.

for crying out loud it was his birthday and he was celebrating low key. give the guy a break. hes obviously not into all the hype and over the top manhattan clubs. isnt that a good thing?? and im almost positive he was probably with his girlfriend. seems like a cool guy to me and your obviously jealous.
