This weekend, you’ll see a lot more pink on the football field than usual. The NFL will be supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month by going pink. The NFL has relaxed it’s dress code to allow pink cleats, wristbands, gloves, sideline caps, helmet decals, captains’ patches, and towels. The New York Times reports that the idea for pink cleans came from DeAngelo Williams. I think it’s pretty cool, but less so if everybody is doing it. They should still fine all of these guys for breaking dress code and then donate it to charity. Or maybe Moneybags Goodell could foot the bill.

So what is going to be done about Lung Cancer when November is Lung Cancer month???? Does anyone care???? This is going way beyond and above seeing everything pink. There are all kinds of cancers out there…..not just breast cancer and it's the most funded. Lung cancer kills more people than many cancers including breast cancer combined. There should be no stigma of smoking. Smoking can be connected to many diseases. Seeing all this pink is a BIG slap in the face!!!!!
Get over it!! Why don't you start a Foundation for Lung Cancer Research and Awareness and stop complaining about breast cancer getting all the attention. Do you know anything about Susan Komen? She was a young woman who was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 33 and died 3 years later. Her younger sister Nancy started the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in her memory, keeping a promise she had made to her dying sister to raise awareness of the disease, and to be a driving force in accelerating breast cancer research – turning it into a global movement. It started with one person, in honor of another, and the rest is history. So instead of complaining about the lack of attention that other cancers receive, put your money where your mouth is and do something about it yourself. It only takes one person to make a difference, and if it means that much to you it seems that it's high time you get started – November is right around the corner. Oh, and next time get your facts in order, breast cancer is the leaading cause of cancer deaths among women worldwide, and apparently there are plenty of women, and men, who find that a statistic worth changing.
