SIDNEY “CINDY” CROSBY GOT IN A FIGHT THIS WEEKEND

Wild Penguins Hockey

I actually missed this one but apparently Sid the Kid dropped the gloves the week. However, he didn’t exactly take on a tough guy.

Facing Minnesota this weekend, Crosby took exception to being dumped (and possibly slew-footed) into the boards behind the net. He immediately got up and shoved Marek Zidlicky of the Wild. They both slashed each other and then a really lame fight broke out.

I’ll admit that Sid gained a little bit of street cred here. He didn’t back down and he managed to pull the jersey over Zidlicky’s head. Though it’s pretty obvious he’s a poor pugilist since he does relatively little damage. He also seems to have pounced on a surprised Zidlicky who didn’t even get a chance to drop both gloves. At least Crosby managed to win the fight — sorta.

But there are so many reasons this is stupid. First off, fighting another poontang is not impressive. Second, he takes himself (the best player on either team) off the ice for five minutes with the fighting penalty. Last, he could have gotten hurt. That was the complain from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette since the Pens are already thin due to injuries. You can check out the video below.

MARK SANCHEZ GROWS JOE NAMATH TRIBUTE MUSTACHE

I really blew it on this one. I knew that there were pictures of Mark Sanchez at this event but I didn't think they looked exciting. That's because I had no idea that Mark Sanchez was growing a Joe Namath-style trucker mustache. Obviously, it doesn't really show ...

Brittney Griner's arrival on Baylor's campus was met with much fanfare. The Texas native is one of the few women in history who can throw down. Sure, her variety of dunks is more Shawn Bradley than Shaquille O'Neal -- but we're still impressed. Obviously, the name recognition and size ...

So true! That and either way a fights a fight and why did the refs break it up so early? They must be protecting someone…. ? NO Sid don't fight you might hurt your wrist or break a finger. Maybe if they hurt themselve maybe they will learn a thing or two.

2ndly Yes it was kinda a dirty play/trip. Whats even more dirty is you cross checking a guy while hes getting up. I feel if you retaliate you should get 2 mins. Weres the instigater pen's? We don't see those that often but if they really want to banish fighting (which I feel is a bunch of SH1T) maybe start giving players those pens instead for instigating or retaliation, might help before tossing out the other main part of the game.
They fight for a reason and if they take that out of the game the next thing to go is checking… Who wants that? Let the boys play and take the dirty out of it…. if you don't take the dirty out (like I stated above) your going to pay the hard way. The big boys will come out and do it the way you should do it. FIGHT! Fans don't want to see the star players get hurt but we all love to see a good fight.
    Thats my 2 cents.

BTW after watching that again…. huge slash by Sid.
Only Poontangs do crap like that. I just wish when Zid slashed back he did it to Sid 's wrist.
Either way both were dirty about it.
