STABBING SEASON UNDERWAY IN PHILLY

NHL/

Philadelphia fans are well-known for their… fanaticism. Occasionally, that enthusiasm turns bad. That was the case this weekend when a bus ride back from a Flyers game in New Jersey became a magnet for violence.

First, a random guy in a Brodeur jersey decided to arbitrarily attack Philly fans in line for the bus. After a short scuffle, the fight was broken up by police. It seemed like that would be the end of the violence — but they hadn’t made it back to Philadelphia yet.

Upon returning to the City of Brotherly Love, the bus was greeted by brawling Flyers fans. At some point, one Flyers fan ended up stabbing another one in the stomach. An off-duty police officer was also beaten in the altercation.

The Flyers fan slash stabber was described as a white man about 6′1″ weighing 300 pounds with tattoos on his arms and across his knuckles. Sounds just about right.  You stay classy, Philadelphia!

MARK SANCHEZ GROWS JOE NAMATH TRIBUTE MUSTACHE

I really blew it on this one. I knew that there were pictures of Mark Sanchez at this event but I didn't think they looked exciting. That's because I had no idea that Mark Sanchez was growing a Joe Namath-style trucker mustache. Obviously, it doesn't really show ...

Brittney Griner's arrival on Baylor's campus was met with much fanfare. The Texas native is one of the few women in history who can throw down. Sure, her variety of dunks is more Shawn Bradley than Shaquille O'Neal -- but we're still impressed. Obviously, the name recognition and size ...

Good lord, the worst fans in the world keep one upping themselves, a fucking stabbing? I guess it's alright since they're killing each other off now, with 40 bottles and knives. They should just loosen the gun laws and get it over with.

  2. Objective

Obviously, nothing violent ever happens in Detroit following a sporting event…oh, wait a minute, those idiot fans tried to burn the city down, didn't they?

    Never mind.

Like there is no crime in any other city in the US, right? This was an isolated incident between some morons who obviously came from the shallow end of the gene pool. It was premeditated since someone on the bus called ahead to his brother who is a cop and told him there was going to be trouble. So, instead of him calling on duty police to the scene, he shows up alone and allows it to get out of hand. This isn't Philly fans this is some dumb morons all liquored up trying to prove to the world that they can single handedly pull the rest of civilization into their own personal hell.

I go to Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, and Sixers games all year without any incidents or trouble. You wear an opposing team's jersey, you're going to get grief. Just the way it is. If you ignore it or joke about it, MOST fans will just leave you alone. If you act like an asshole, you're just opening up that door and inviting them in. But, then, I'm sure all the New York and Chicago and LA and Detroit fans are all a bunch of angels and never do anything to get themselves in the police blotter. It's just Philly fans.

  4. First of all, this speaks for itself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bZk7BIdCns

Now, lets be honest with ourselves. Sure fans get unruly everywhere. When championships are won in LA, there are riots in the streets and flipped over cars. When Boston wins anything, they run around like the crazy drunks they are chanting "Yankees suck!" (yes, even when its not baseball). I won't even pretend that Chicago isn't the most dangerous city in America right now. But Philadelphia fans have always been the most vile fans in American sports. There are stories every single year about people being murdered or beaten or stabbed by Philly fans. You can call out the behavior of other cities all you want, but there really is nothing quite like the phenomenon of murderous Philly fans.

There is a huge difference between CRIME, and sports rivalry induced beatings. This is NOT an isolated incident, and to add insult to my statement, "morons coming from the shallow end of the gene pool" sums up pretty much the whole city.
