Brian Elliott is a thief. He literally stole an easy goal from Marian Hossa that would’ve cut the lead in half. Instead, Elliott made an absurd stick save to deny the Blackhawks winger.
Elliott was behind his net the retrieve a dump-in when he was forced into the duty. Somehow, the puck kicked out right in front of the net. Sure-handed Marian Hossa was waiting in front and had a chance to bury and easy goal. That’s when Elliott dove from the side of the net and turned away the shot with his stick. The Ottawa goalie’s paddle deflected the puck inches wide of the left post.
