Winning a marathon must be nice. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Corina Canitz won the 2009 Lakefront Marathon. However, Canitz was the third woman to cross the finish line.
Cassie Peller and Jennifer Goebel finished with better times. Unfortunately, Peller and Goebel were both disqualified for infractions. Peller, who finished first, was DQ’d for taking a water bottle from a friend. Goebel was stripped of her cash prize for using an iPod near the end of the race.
