New York Sports Score From Last Night

ScoresFromLastNight is our daily roundup of last night’s happenings.  Today’s edition is brought to you by BigLeagueScrew’s World Class Women.

CAPITALS 6 RANGERS 5

Vaclav Prospal came through with two goals and two assists but it wasn’t enough for the Rangers to overcome the Caps.  Alex Ovechkin had two goals and an assist while Nicklas Backstrom contributed a goal and four assists.  Henrik Lundqvist allowed the six goals on only 32 shots.  The Rangers actually outshot the Capitals 38-32. LIGHTNING 5 ISLANDERS 2

Steve Stamkos lifted the Lightning to victory with two goals and an assist.  The 19-year-old (he was born in 1990) now has 31 goals in 56 games.  Antero Nittymaki came up big for the Bolts stopping 34 of 36 shots in the win.  Matt Moulson and Jon Sim tallied for the Islanders. [AP]
