The poor weather in Nebraska is forcing the Cornhuskers to play without their band. Icy road conditions will keep the Huskers band from traveling to San Diego for the Holiday Bowl matchup with Arizona. The school has a couple of backup plans… but they may not work out.
Currently, Nebraska’s San Diego alumni have put the word out for graduates that can chip in musical skills. It’s unclear whether or not they’ll be able to generate enough interest in a day and a half to work that out. Nebraska has even gone so far to ask the Arizona alumni association to ask them to learn the Huskers’ fight songs. Yeah, that’s probably not going to happen.
