SOX PITCHER DANIEL BARD MARRIED ADAIR STURDIVANT

Last season was Daniel Bard’s first year in the majors. He was a key part of the Red Sox bullpen contributing a 3.65 ERA and 63 strikeouts in 49.1 innings pitched. As he enters his second year in the big leagues, the goofy-looking, lanky bastard will also be in his rookie year of marriage.

The first time we saw Ms. Sturdivant, she was attending the David Ortiz Celebrity Golf Classic with her fiance. Bard locked up his girlfriend Adair Sturdivant last month. The two were married in St. Simons Island, Georgia on January 16th. Sturdivant is quite the catch having attended Furman University where she was a cheerleader and a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority.

GALLERY: JENNIFER HAWKINS LOOKS PERFECT IN PINK

Jennifer Hawkins is our favorite cheerleader turned Miss Universe turned super model. The gorgeous Australian was recently in Santa Monica for a photoshoot. Luckily, the fact that its winter in America didn’t deter her from wearing a bikini.

Hawkins is in Los Angeles to attend the G’Day USA Gala. I’ve never heard of it before but it could probably have a better name. The dinner is a 1200-person event that celebrates Australian success with Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, Cameron Diaz, John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John, Jimmy Barnes, and Holly Valance in attendance.

Additionally, she took some time out for a photoshoot with her Aussie Cozi bikini line. By rocking pink bikini, Hawko has thrust herself into the competition with Michelle Keegan and Nicole Bahls. Although, that competition may only exist inside of my head.

GALLERY: THREE CHEERS FOR JORDAN FISH

If you weren’t already a fan of Jordan Fish, it isn’t too late to become one. Ms. Fish is a Lady Cat dancer for the Charlotte Bobcats and also the girlfriend of NASCAR racer Denny Hamlin. Last week, we posted pictures of Jordan but this week we have even more thanks to Cheer Times.

I’ll go out on a limb and assume these images are from the 07-08 Lady Cats team. It appears that they’re participating in some team dance competition. In any case, Jordan was a winner. Last year, the Lady Cats team made it to the final four of the NBA.com Dance Team Bracket but were dropped by the three-time champion Miami Heat squad. They may even take the title in 2010 with the addition of Jordan.

CLUTCH CATCH: NASCAR GIRLFRIEND JORDAN FISH

I find that I have a pretty neutral attitude towards NASCAR. It probably takes a lot of skill but is too boring to watch. While the on-track product may be dull, the scenery is not. And when I say scenery, I mean NASCAR girlfriends. That brings me to our new favorite girl: Jordan Fish. Jordan is Denny Hamlin’s girlfriend. From what I can tell, Hamlin is a reasonably skilled NASCAR driver. Word is that they weren’t serious until recently.

But we don’t care about him anyway. Fish is actually one of the Lady Cats that dances at Charlotte Bobcats games. She started in 07-08, took 08-09 off, and is now back in the fold. In a recent interview, she stated that she had achieved “some personal goals” in her year off. What, locking up a rich NASCAR boyfriend? She also makes four predictions in the interview — two of which are so bold they (“The Fans” and “The Bobcats Organization”) may not even be predictions.

It’s pretty much impossible to resist the ridiculous good looks of Ms. Fish. That’s why we’ve scoured the Internets and assembled a gallery for you. And, hey, maybe she is content with her rich ass NASCAR boyfriend. The good news? She has a younger sister named Linsey . Also a Lady Cat. Boom. Roasted. You can read more about Linsey Fish here.

BOTTLE, TERROR STRIKE OREGON CHEERLEADER

Tragedy struck in Tucson on Saturday night. One of Oregon’s beautiful cheerleaders was struck in the head by a bottle. If you didn’t know, ESPN polled college football and college basketball players and Oregon was voted “best cheerleaders” in both. And I doubt it was for their routines.

Katelynn Johnson was cheering her heart out when she a bottle smacked her in the head. Johnson had to be carted off after the incident. She had a concussion and even went to the hospital. Spectators allegedly threw bottles and other projectiles at the women.

The Sweethearts for Soldiers are a great organization. The current and former NFL cheerleaders create a charity calendar and go overseas with a variety tour to entertain our troops. They’ve just chosen their group of 2010 Sweethearts (pictured above and below). BRONCOS CHEERLEADERS RELEASE SWIMSUIT CALENDAR

Cheerleaders and football go hand-in-hand. So do NFL cheerleaders and swimsuit calendars. The Broncos cheer squad was the latest group to put up a swimsuit calendar. The creatively named Broncos Cheerleaders went to Steamboat, Colorado to shoot their calendar. I have to say… the shoot actually looks well done instead of the semi-premium porno vibe that most of these calendars give off. It’s so hard to pick favorites, but I think I’m going to go with Lindy Koucky in the field of yellow flowers. You can purchase the calendars on the Denver Broncos website.

AVP DANCERS GIVE US SOMETHING TO CHEER ABOUT

The Association of Volleyball Professionals has a crew of dancers creatively named the AVP Dancers. There are 11 girls and the breakdown is 6 blondes, 4 brunettes, and a redhead. Well… what does any good team of dancers or cheerleaders do? Shoot a swimsuit calendar, of course. The AVP Dancers did just that and the behind-the-scenes video is below.

SIXERS DANCERS EXPORT SEXY DANCING TO CHINA

The Sixers Dancers are in the middle of a 10-day “journey” (NBA.com’s words, not mine) in China. They’re halfway around the world supporting the NBA Jam Van and are a part of the “NBA’s first-ever reality TV show.” They are? The dancers invited include Dana, Annie, Erica, Kate, Danielle, and Melinda.

The NBA Jam Van actually sounds pretty bad ass. It’s a 52-foot truck that turns into a basketball complex when parked. The NBAJV features 1000 square meters of court where Chinese ballers can participate in the HP NBA Slam Jam Challenge. Isn’t Slam Jam redundant? And if the contests involves dribbling, passing, and shooting… that means that there is neither slamming nor jamming. But hey, it rhymes! Marketing!

The Jam Van is only on the schedule for the girls’ first three days in China. After that, they’ll make one appearance in Beijing with the NBA’s new reality show called “Mengniu NBA Basketball Disciple”. JENNIFER HAWKINS IS THE ULTIMATE TROPHY WIFE

Jennifer Hawkins is quite the package. She’s what I like to call a “triple threat”. No… she doesn’t act, dance, and sing. Instead, she was a cheerleader, became Miss Universe, and now she’s a supermodel. Ms. Hawkins started off as a cheerleader for the Newcastle Knights rugby team and the Hunter Pirates basketball team. She subsequently became Miss Australia and then won the Miss Universe crown in 2004. Since then, she has signed numerous endorsement deals including a campaign for Myer department stores.

I was planning on posting about Ms. Hawkins in any case. But I also found out she was a victim of a wardrobe malfunction this week. In a custom made Swarovski crystal bikini (pictured below), she took the catwalk and had her top slip. Apparently this wasn’t the first time she’s been embarrassed by a revealing moment on the runway. In 2004, she stepped on her dress which ripped it off and introduced the world to her red g-string. The picture from her most recent Myer fashion show is below and we’ve got a nice Jennifer Hawkins gallery after the jump.  And did anybody notice the guy on the right is blatantly checking her out?

SUNS DANCERS TRYOUT HEATS UP WITH FINAL VOTE

The Suns Dancers need our help. They’re currently holding a vote on their website to see which girls make the team. I’m all about making women’s dreams come true (after mine, of course) so I decided to check out the the… talent. I’ve been to Phoenix/Scottsdale recently and can tell you that the place is loaded with attractive women. The finalists for the Suns Dancers are no exception to that rule and the squad boasts fit women of all kinds.

You can vote for the Suns Dancers on the Phoenix Suns website. After careful consideration, my favorites are Alyssa, Jaclyn, Kayla, Rachel L, and Nicole.  Kayla’s picture on the the voting site is not the best… but that’s her in the big picture below.  Before you vote, you may want to check out the pictures from tryouts and their recent trip to Italy. They were in Rome as a part of the NBA 5 united tour. Below are a few images from the tryouts to give you an idea of what we’re dealing with here. Now go vote!

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL (CHEERLEADERS)?

The first NFL game of the 2009 season went down last night. The Bills and Titans matched up in the Hall of Fame Game in Buffalo. I didn’t watch it because pre-season football is the worst television product of all time. However, there was some good scenery at the game. This also marks the beginning of the season for NFL cheerleaders. Gunaxin just put up a wonderful post about last years HoFG girls.
