“COMMON SENSE”: OUR LETTER TO LEBRON

Dear LeBron,

Let’s start with full disclosure – I am a born and raised Knicks fan. So I’ll spend a few sentences pleading with you to sign with the Knicks. Please, please, please sign with the Knicks this offseason. We Knicks fans have been suffering for so long now. We need you. Ok, now that that’s out of my system, let me explain why you should sign with the New York Knickerbockers this coming summer in the most unbiased way possible.

WOULD A CHRIS BOSH TRADE NIX LEBRON TO KNICKS?

chris_bosh_trade_lebron_james

We’re about five weeks away from the NBA trade deadline. With the February 18th date approaching, Chris Bosh is apparently generating a lot of interest. ESPN’s Chad Ford reports that interest in Bosh from the Lakers and Rockets could have a big impact on the LeBron Sweepstakes as well.

Sources from both the Knicks and Nets have told Ford that they don’t expect to land any major free agents unless they can pair that player with another big-time signing. He also notes that the Nets were already starting to question the prospect of a big move:

Even before the rumors surfaced this weekend, the Nets were having second thoughts about their 2010 summer strategy. A source close to the Nets’ thinking told me that they are concerned that if they don’t land LeBron or Bosh, they may be stuck in the same situation the Pistons were in last summer — with no elite free agents on the market, the Pistons were forced to overpay role players to fill out their roster.

The Knicks may also be re-thinking their strategy for 2010. The same factors may force Donnie Walsh’s hand to make a move soon or to wait until the dust settles in the 2010 free agency period. Nets team president Rod Thorn said that he expects “major deals” before the deadline. On the Lebron front, the latest rumor is that Pat Riley may go “all in” on LBJ.

Nuts & Bolts: Kelly Brook, More CB4, Gisele, Megan Fox’s Tongue

This edition of Nuts & Bolts covers Kelly Brook’s uncovered body, more CB4 Showdown in Chinatown, Tom Brady douches it up in another TB12 hat, Navritalova’s lesbian lover lawsuit, and Megan Fox’s tongue.

KELLY BROOK’S BIKINI BODY

She’s dating a rugby player (Danny Cipriani)… so this sorta counts as sports gossip.  Who cares?

Via Egotastic:

No one doesn’t like Kelly Brook bikini pictures, and if they do (not like), they deserve a smack upside the head. That being said here are some pictures of Kelly Brook in a bikini, and if you don’t like, well, you know what’s coming your way.

Showdown in Chinatown: CB4’s Nightmare

There was another big soccer game yesterday. It was the second annual Showdown in Chinatown at Roosevelt Park in Manhattan. Steve Nash and Claudio Reyna, formerly of the US National Soccer team, partnered for the charity match. We’ve got to hand it to them for putting together one of the coolest charity events going. There were a ton of international soccer stars on hand plus a handful of notable NBA players. Last year’s 8-on-8 game attracted around 2500 on-lookers. Nash’s team won 9-4 the first edition of the Showdown so Claudio Reyna was looking for a little revenge.

Lineups included: Claudio Reyna (US Soccer), Steve Nash, Tony Parker, Grant Hill, Chris Bosh, Javier Zanetti (Inter Milan), Salomon Kaou (Chelsea), Adrian Mutu (Fiorentina), Marc Stein (ESPN basketball writer), Ryan Babel (Liverpool), Mathieu Flamini (AC Milan), Edgar Davids (retired, Juventus & others), Quincy Owusu Abeyie (Spartak Moscow), Martin Nash (Steve’s brother who also plays professionally for the Vancouver Whitecaps), Ivan Cordoba (retired, Inter Milan & others)
