My opinion of David Beckham is pretty neutral. He used to be a very good soccer player but I could do without his attempt to be a style icon. Luckily, it looks like at least one of his kids will turn out to be pretty cool. If I were five years old, I’d be Cruz Beckham’s friend.

David Beckham is a fashionable chap. He may have had the most influential faux hawk of the last decade. However, he’s also made some major faux pas including: the double pony tail, cornrows, and his recent futuristic mullet. Beckham’s latest over-the-top statement came by way of tattoo rather than hairstyle.
Beckham is currently playing with AC Milan and showed off his new ink after a victory over Juventus. It’s Beckham’s third tattoo “depicting Christian iconography” even though he says he has a strong link to Judaism. Hey, Becks can get whatever tattoos he wants. But the Jesus tat doesn’t really mesh with the pin-up girl in stripper heels on his left arm.
You probably didn’t know it, but MLS played their championship game last night. In an anticlimactic finish, Real Salt Lake defeated the L.A. Galaxy on penalty kicks. RSL won both the semifinal and final on penalty kicks and had finished the regular season with 11 wins, 12 losses, and seven draws.
The result also meant the last of David Beckham in America — at least until next season. The English midfielder had an assist and also scored on his penalty kick in the shootout. Landon Donovan tallied once during the game but failed to convert his penalty kick which doomed the Galaxy. Beckham will now take four weeks off before he goes on loan to AC Milan. But Beckham thinks he’ll be back according to the Seattle Times:
David Beckham promised he will be indeed be back in MLS next season – and that he will eventually exercise his option to own one of the league’s teams.
“Of course,” he said of returning in 2010, after his limped through the Los Angeles Galaxy’s upset loss to Real Salt Lake in the league’s championship match. “I’ve said I’ll be back, and I will.”
Beckham will finish out the season in Italy as he gets in shape for the World Cup this summer. There’s no word on whether or not he’ll sport an improved haircut when he reports to Milan on December 28th.

Victoria Beckham was back in England for Fashion Week. The part-time model took the time to go to the British Vogue after party at Le Caprice restaurant. She was joined by Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Stella McCartney, Daisy Lowe, and Pixie Geldof. Gossip sites were quick to report that David Beckham was “out on the town” in Los Angeles in her absence. I’m sure you’re on the edge of your seat. The full gallery is after the jump.

Fabio Capello has been clear that David Beckham is still under consideration for the England World Cup squad. The England coach said that Beckham is “one of the most important players.” So Beckham still may get a shot to play for England in the 2010 World Cup. It’s been a long road back for the soccer player and part-time model. Beckham stepped down as captain of England in 2006 and was dropped from the team by Steve McClaren in August 2006. He didn’t appear for his home country again until May 2007. In order to make the World Cup team, Capello has been clear that Beckham needs to stay in shape after the MLS season ends. So that means a move to a European club for the winter is nearly inevitable. Luckily for Beckham, AC Milan director Umberto Gandini has expressed interest in bringing Beckham back.

Beckham slid into Sounders midfielder Peter Vagenas trying to reach a ball, hooking his right ankle and bringing the former Galaxy midfielder down to the pitch. Referee Ricardo Salazar immediately issued the red card, and Beckham did not offer much of an argument before leaving the field.
It was Beckham’s first red card in his MLS career and his second ejection in the MLS. The red card carries an automatic suspension that will force Beckham to miss Los Angeles’ match at Chicago on Wednesday night.
Posh may not be all the rage in the US but she’s still a star overseas. The Daily Mail finds it necessary to trash her about once a week. The most recent entry detailed her new tattoo and “sinewy” appearance. The wrist tattoo is apparently a celebration of her ten year marriage to David Beckham. She has long been known for her super-slender looks but has recently looked more toned having taken up running and pilates.
But perhaps aware that the TV camera adds 10lb, she looked more petite than ever at the auditions in a purple sheath dress which drew attention to her delicate frame.
She received cheers from the crowd and said she was ‘beyond excited’ about being a guest judge alongside Simon Cowell.
But her slender frame was not the only things she was showing off. Victoria has recently added another tattoo to her wrist.
The Hebrew message inscribed on her left wrist is believed to celebrate her 10-year marriage to husband David as it reads ‘together forever, eternally’.
The couple celebrated their ‘aluminium’ anniversary on July 4 in the Maldives, and David had a ring of 10 roses to celebrate every year of their married life.
The Hebrew writing is a nod to David’s upbringing. His grandmother was Jewish and he has talked about the profound effect the religion has had on him, referring to himself as ‘half-Jewish’.
I understand that Posh and Becks are at the pinnacle of fashion and style. After starting his career in Manchester, David Beckham has bounced between runway-friendly Madrid, Milan, and Los Angeles. However, the soft-spoken Brit and his wife, Skeletor, have gone too far by making their son look metro.

The four-year-old, who has already dazzled the world with his breakdancing moves and flair for fancy dress, showed off a spiffy new haircut in Los Angeles over the weekend.
He was styling out a primped and preened Mowhawk in a look reminiscent of the cut David famously had back in 2002.
The haircut is bad but not HORRIBLE. But I’d still put it into the same class as letting your kid have a rat tail. Both hairstyles are worthy of ridicule and displeasing to the eye. While I bash the Beckhams for this offensive haircut, I fully endorse Cruz Beckham’s career as a performer. I didn’t know this… but he’s a breakdancer.

Kate Hudson and her boyfriend, Yankees superstar Alex Rodriguez, go on a private shopping trip together at Barney’s New York on Sunday (July 12) in Beverly Hills, Calif.
The couple was allowed to stay and shop after the store had officially closed for the day. An inside source said that both were trying on lots of clothes and actually chose outfits for each other. Kate, 30, and Alex, 33, walked out separately, but were seen driving off together in Kate’s Escalade (Alex rode shotgun).
