GALLERY: NASTY NASTIA LIUKIN HITS LOS ANGELES

We liked Nastia Liukin because she had a wholesome quality about her. Well, it appears as if Nasty Nastia has gone totally L.A. on us. The gymnastics star was spotted in LA over the weekend sporting an extreme West Coast look.

The paps caught Nastia leaving the Kitson store in Los Angeles last week. Nastia clutched two Kitson bags while wearing extremely ripped jeans and a semi-see through white v-neck. It’s just not quite as appealing a leotard and a tight ponytail.

Hopefully, the cute Normal Nastia returns to us soon. You can check out 10+ pictures of Ms. Liukin after the jump.

I missed a bunch of pictures from Nastia Liukin at the Visa Championships in Dallas. Sorry about that. The rest of the pictures are after the jump. Don’t bitch at me. I don’t have to take this from you. Better late than never.  I’m going to have to cool it on all the “beam” puns before I run out…

NASTIA LIUKIN FLIPPIN’ SEXY AT VISA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Nastia Liukin was back to competing last week in Dallas at the Visa Championships. The Dallas News reports that she’s inspired a generation of young female fans. I heard that she also has some male fans too. Whether or not she wins gold medals, we’ll never get tired of her working the beam. Nastia only participated in the balance beam at the Visa Championships and the competition was attended by 26,818. Since you probably weren’t there, we have the pictures of Nastia’s competing and practicing after the jump.

Liukin – the reason the championships came to town, drawing 26,818 over four days – competed only on the balance beam. She improved her score from Thursday’s first round, notching a 14.7, though she pointed out plenty of mistakes. She said she’s committed to attempting to make the world team on beam and uneven bars, but it won’t be easy because she’s not yet in shape.

The Olympic champion returned to competition for the first time since the Beijing Games on Saturday night, and it was as if she’d never been away. She posted the second-best score on balance beam, her only event, and her 14.5 was only .1 points behind teammate Ivana Hong.

“As soon as we marched out today, that’s when it really hit me: I felt like the old Nastia again,” she said. “Listening to the anthem, I got butterflies in my stomach. It was a cool feeling to be back where I’m at and do what I have a passion for.

“I’m just so happy to be back in this environment. This is what I love to do.”

Liukin is only the third U.S. woman to win the Olympic title, and she’s been in high demand for appearances, photo shoots and commercial opportunities since she left Beijing. She loves everything she’s gotten to do – she picked up the ESPY award for female athlete of the year last week – but the schedule has wreaked havoc on her training.

But with the national championships only three weeks away in her hometown of Dallas, Liukin did the Cover Girl Classic to get back in the competition zone.
