Nastia Liukin was back to competing last week in Dallas at the Visa Championships. The Dallas News reports that she’s inspired a generation of young female fans. I heard that she also has some male fans too. Whether or not she wins gold medals, we’ll never get tired of her working the beam. Nastia only participated in the balance beam at the Visa Championships and the competition was attended by 26,818. Since you probably weren’t there, we have the pictures of Nastia’s competing and practicing after the jump.
Liukin – the reason the championships came to town, drawing 26,818 over four days – competed only on the balance beam. She improved her score from Thursday’s first round, notching a 14.7, though she pointed out plenty of mistakes. She said she’s committed to attempting to make the world team on beam and uneven bars, but it won’t be easy because she’s not yet in shape.
